Prince Nico Mbarga & Rocafil Jazz Sweet Mother
Side A
Sweet Mother
Wayo Inlaw
Peace Movement Social Club of Nigeria—Ikenga Super Stars of Africa
Side B
Aki Special
Christiana
Shakara School Girls—Ikenga Super Stars of Africa
Olu Ugbo (Operation feed The Nation)—Ikenga Super Stars of Africa
These songs are classics, if you don't have them already... Plus, the tape includes Ikenga filler. Sublime stuff all of it. Nigerian music from the 70s is so HOT right now.

Ooh, fab. I've only listened to about half a track so far, but I'm excited to hear it all. Thanks for posting.
These guitars still makes me crazy. I hadn't got these Ikenga songs.
Thanks
(Producers was very strange to put Ikenga on half of a Prince Nico's tape!)

Thank you for this wonderful music!
Prince Nico Mbarga is an icon in Colombia, some artists of Champeta Criolla music from Colombia, grewing up listening to her music and is also inspired.
the songs that more sounded that in the North Coast of Colombia are, Sweet Mother and the Special Aky
Aduna,
I also share your opinion is also strange for me Ikenga with Prince Nico.

hello, i'd like to thank you for all these releases, and especially this one, that i took a few days ago for my father who had lost his own copy several years ago. i'm born in france in the 80s and i clearly remember hearing these sweet basslines when i was a small child! you can't imagine what kind of pleasure it's like to hear all that again 20 years later! is it possible, please, that you post good vintage 70s-80s rumba-rock from congo-kinsha, and less known than the great papa wemba? we all would be very pleased about it. many thanks again, greetings from paris! pierre

Never left a comment on your blog before but I felt I had to say thanks so much for a wonderful site, particularly this entry.
Sweet Mother is one of the finest songs I've heard in a long time. It became a bit of a 'song of the summer' for us in 2008, all because of this great blog. Thanks again!
